New Beginnings (Mai and Cam)

[Lotus]

Isaac laughed at her answer. It was just what he wanted in an answer, someone to play along with him. Or did that mean that she could see straight through him? Now, that was worrying. He shook his head a little and just decided that all she saw was the show, and that was all she was ever going to see.

They carried on walking, but when he saw her struggling a little with that, actually fairly big bag for school...too big...he stopped and just raised his hand up in a 'give it here' motion. He smiled at her encouragingly, "No bad intentions still."

[Cham]

She smiled "I assuming not, but i think id rather hang onto it. you know... its important stuff" Actually, it was the only things she owned. Not only all of her school books, pens, papers, but several changes of clothes, her wallet, everything she needed, the only things she had. Although she trusted him enough to go on a little stroll, she didnt exactly want him to have her things... If he turned out to be a thief... she couldnt affort to lose anything "Ill be fine anyways"

[Lotus]

He shook his head and felt a little forceful as he took a step closer to her. "Y'a know, I know you're lying about being okay. I can see the mark from it. I'm not a thief and never will be one. So why don't you just let me carry your bag and you can carry mine. Then if I run off with yours, I'll have to come back for mine anyway?" He smiled his cheeky smile, hoping it'd work this time.

"Do we have a deal?"

[Cham]

Issac stood infront of her, and she stopped, only a few inches from him. She bit her lip, lookin down at her figiting hands that were knotted together "I... I suppose... Same time?" She slipped the duffle off her shoulder, it janked her arm to her side, and sh winced as it rubbed across the skin. Then she looked at him, putting out her forever trembling hand, keeping a lock on the strap. She looked up into his eyes, hers begging for him not to run off...

[Lotus]

He nodded his head and smiled. "I guess making promises to a stranger isn't much, but seriously, I'm not going to run away with your stuff. That's cruel and heartless and that just isn't my kinda style." He dropped his bag off his shoulder and handed it out to her as he reached for hers.

He could see her hand trembling but he tried to ignore it and show her that things were going to be okay and he wasn't going to steal her stuff. The stuff in her bag must be seriously precious for her to be so protective.

[Cham]

She relaxed slightly as he handed her the bag, but the way he so carelessly shucked it off scared her worse. There was clearly nothing of great value to her in the bag, and she was frightened he might bolt anyways. "Well... Alright then... off we go" She slung the bag onto her less injured shoulder, and continued walking "Anytime you feel like trading back is fine" She said softly..."

[Lotus]

He was pleased that she'd finally accept the offer because that shoulder of hers really did look bad, and this bag of hers really was exceptionally heavy just to take to school. "You'll get it back. Stop fretting alright." He nudged her a little and smiled down at her.

He looked back up at where they were walking and saw a weird little clearing up ahead. "How about we stop over there for a while and then I'll walk you home? Sound like a plan?"

[Cham]

She took a half step to the side as he gently elbowed her, she grinned at the ground and fell back into step with him, but then he asked the question she had been dreading. To walk her home. A chill went up her spine and she shivered lightly, hopefully she could pass it off as an odd breeze. "I... erm.. uh..." She quickly thought of a lie "I uh. I have to go to the library before going... home... But thank you for the offer" She wouldnt look at him, but gave a quick glance to the side and a plastic smile. "But a rest dows sound pleasent." She added kindly, hoping he didnt think she thought he was weird...

[Lotus]

He was taken aback if he was truly honest with himself, normally girls would scream at the thought of having him walk them home. Guess Gia was just different, and that was nice, he guessed. "Not a problem. I'll walk you there then if you want." He smiled down at her again as they neared the strange little clearing.

As he placed her bag gently on the floor he stretched as he thought over what she had said. He was good at dealing with things that didn't quite make sense. He saw her sit down and then it hit him. "If you needed to go to the library then why were you curled up against the wall and then walk in the complete opposite direction?"

[Cham]

Gia had set next to him, her knees pulled up, she wrapped her arms around them, and turned her head toward him, laying her temple carefully against her knees "I was a little distrought after failing the exam. I just wanted to be alone, then i was spooked that you had seen me. Usually nobody sees me" She shrugged, and gave him a small smiled, hoping he would buy the lie. she tried to look relaxed, but every muscle in her body was tence.

[Lotus]

He didn't say much as he thought about what she had said. There was just something that didn't seem to fit, but he shrugged it off anyway. "Fine by me Gia. I don't know you so if you don't want me walking you home, just say. I can take that blow for sure."

He laid down on the grass with his arms behind his head and he sighed. This girl really had him thinking a lot.

[Cham]

She groaned "ughh, its more complicated than that" she shook her head softly, hiding her face. "I just... cant" She said softly "You... I... really its just..." She gave up speaking at that point, feeling horrid that she hadnt told him the truth, but knowing if she did, he would try and help. He seemed to nice not to. And she didnt want him to. She wanted him to go on with his life. She was going to be fine... She hoped...

[Lotus]

"Hey don't fret about it. I'll just walk you to the library or something. Just 'cause you're not like other girls that would jump at the chance doesn't mean I'm going back on what I said about walking you somewhere safe at least."

He turned his head so he could see her and smile his softer grin. "Just relax and enjoy being in the company of this..." He gestured to his face and laughed.

[Cham]

He calmed her with a single sentance. Just a few words brought a smile to her lips, and a laugh into the air. "I doubt it possible not to" She giggled, nudging him softly "But thank you. I havent had a proper friend in quite a while. Thank you" She smiled and gently leaned her head on his shoulder.

He smiled up at her before she leant down on his shoulder. It felt nice, in a very odd way. Never had a girl just done that and he had willingly let them stay there, but for some reason he wanted her to stay. "I don't think I've ever met a girl quite like you. Especially one that can just lean on me without giggling or squealing. What do you say to be pretty amazing in that respect?"

He titled his head so he could look down at her from where he lay. She hadn't replied, like she was mulling it over for a long time. "What do you say to that, friend?" That definitely had a nice ring to it.

(It's okaaaay!)

[Cham]

She shook her head, smiling "You are so full of it" She laughed "But i think it sounds wonderful." Leaning up to look at him, she asked curiously "Do girls really throw themselves at you? Thats just disgusting and tasteless." She thought for a moment. Was she doing that? Was she throwing herself at him? No. They were just friends.

"Well, i guess i could see why they would, your a pretty stunning individual yourself. Then i suppose theres the suck-ups who just want your last name" She rolled her eyes, scoffing at the girls who would marry up just for that sake. She didnt even know if she was getting married ever, and she didnt really want to think about it at the moment. Hell, she didnt know where she was going to sleep that night...

[Lotus]

He laughed at her slightly shocked reaction. "Well, I know I'm full of it, but how can I not be with these good looks?" He winked again and clicked just to make her laugh a little more. Man, he was getting good at this putting on a show.

What she said though struck home. He knew she had just said the truth in one sentence and she didn't even know him. But he couldn't let on. "I guess there are some that would do that, and they're the ones that constantly hand onto my arms and legs making me late for class. But, with these looks? I mean, how can some of them not just do it for that aspect?" He moved his arm a little so it was wrapped around her and his hand was placed on her shoulder. It felt oddly natural.

[Cham]

She laughed "Yep, definitely full of something alright" giggling, and adjusted slightly as he put his arm around her "You know, you could just tell them your not interested or something." Smiling she looked up as he brought up his looks a second time.

Nudging him "Stop playing around, you dont have to put up some facade with me, i get what your all about" She relaxed into him, the slight trembling she had stopped, she felt warm and comfortable.

[Lotus]

He looked down at her and simply raised his eyebrows. "Excuse me? I do not put on some façade with you, or anyone for that matter." He rested his head back down, but felt a twinge in his stomach for blatantly lying to her. He shook his head and sighed quietly.

The grin came back quickly as he said, "Just 'cause I'm interested to hear. What am I all about, hey?"

[Cham]

Gia looked up at him, shaking her head "Liar" She said softly, smiling, but dropping the subject.

"Well..." She began "Your facade is all about your name. Your good looking which is true" She looked down, figing with her hands. She felt awkward telling him exactly what he was doing. She knew what it was, but maybe he didnt know he was doing it... "Your actually sweet, but you act all puffed up and arrogant. But when you realize your being sweet and endearing, you pull down your shade and get all cocky" Her voice got lower and lower as she continued until she was murmuring.

[Lotus]

He was glad she couldn't see his facial expression at that very moment, because it was showing pure and utter shock with a little hurt all rolled into one. She knew him as if she'd just clicked his fingers and his cover had simply broken away. It took him a while to figure out everything that she'd just said and understand that she knew him, but he wouldn't let her get away with it.

"Did you ever stop to realise that it isn't this so called façade of yours but in fact my own personality? Some people would find that very offensive. You only got a little of it right." He smiled down at her and managed to finally look in her eyes.

[Cham]

She smiled and shook her head "Yeah infact I did. But in my experience, believe it or not, I used to be 'in' or whatever you want to call it with, well... snobs." She said plainly. "And you sir are no snob. The fact that you even turned around when you met me shows your not. Its clearly a facade. And..." She hesitated a moment, then shut her lips tight. She couldnt look at him. It was too awkward speaking her mind so blatintly. She didnt usually do this, but she felt so comfortable around him... 'If i dont look into his eyes, she wouldnt have a problem' She told herself silently

[Lotus]

Isaac mused over what she had said, and he hated the fact that she had a point. And a very good one at that! He sighed, but when she said 'and' before trailing off he couldn't help but push himself up on one elbow and look down to her to say,

"And what...?" There was a hint of a devilish grin on his face again.

[Cham]

She opened her mouth a small amount, finally looking up at him "And nothing. I was out of line." She turned onto her side so his hand slipped off of her, but her head was still on his shoulder

"But, I wasnt wrong" She added "So just be you. Thats all Im saying. Your better than most of the guys out there I'd say..."

[Lotus]

All he could do was stare at her. He was good in stressful situations, he could carry off a calm air, but this time he was struggling. "C'mon, just tell me what the and was for? I'm not going to turn my intentions to bad ones just 'cause of what you say!"

He sat up properly then, making her move off his shoulder. "Please? I wouldn't hurt you for the life of me. Like you said, I'm better than most." He grinned, just to make it sound as if he wasn't that desperate.
