New Beginnings (Mai and Cam)

[Cham]

Gia laughed as he mentioned the 'intentions' again. They might change though. He might leave. And she had really put too much trust in him too quickly. But she just wanted a friend. Just wanted someone to be close to. And hell, shed admit it to herself. The 'and' was that she thought she liked him... Maybe more than she thought at first. He was kind, and caring, and definitly attractive.

Leaning back on her hands, she shook her head "It really doesnt matter anyways. If it doesnt change anything, theres no point. AND" She smiled stressing the word, pretending she was telling him "You should drop the facade" she wanted to add 'because i really like the real you' at the end... but she didnt.

[Lotus]

Isaac smiled to himself as he chuckled and shook his head. "If that's what you want me to believe then, heck, I'll believe it." He then moved closer to her, until he was right in front of her face as he whispered in her ear, "But I can read people better than that."

He moved away, just as quickly as he had moved closer and laid back down on the grass. "So when d'you need to be at the library for?"

[Cham]

Her body froze as her mind reeled. What did he mean? How was he reading her? And what did his lips feel like...

She blushed a crimson red, and goosebumps stood up on her arms. "Well, i need to stop reading people, and need to read a book" She didnt specify, searching her mind for a title that she couldnt think of. Reaching for her bag she rummaged through it, pulling out a fiction, hardback copy that had been well worn "I erm... Need to return this one, and pick up the next book" She put on a smile and hoped the rose had faded from her flustered cheeks.

[Lotus]

He nodded his head, but couldn't help but smile at the way her cheeks flushed. "Guess you're like all the other girls after all. But then again, who can blame you?" Gazing up he tried to gage her reaction again, just for a laugh.

She really was easy to be around. "Well, I'll take you there in about ten maybe? Or do you not want this to end so soon?"

[Cham]

Her mouth fell open, clearly appald at the comparison. "Neither" She said hotly "Neither actually. Ill walk myself there thank you very much Issac" She stood, snatching up her bag and shoving in the book. Starting on her way back to town.

Muttering to herself as she walked, the bag digging into her shoulder immediatly "Like them? Really? Well that jsut makes him that much more unattractive. Honestly, like those snobby rich girls who throw themselves at snobby rich boys." But quickly her words turned nasty, and towards herself "Oh get off it Gia, you probably were throwing yourself at him. You and your stupid big mouth, always getting into trouble. Cant I ever keep my opinions to myself? No. I cant, because that would mean I had decorum and half a brain" She chided.

[Lotus]

Isaac sat up as soon as she got up and left. What on earth? He had only been kidding around. Was it really that bad what he said? He watched as she walked away from him. He didn't want to go home yet; he hadn't prolonged it enough yet. And he had made a promise. He ran a hand over his face and sighed as he stood up, grabbing his bag.

He starting walking in her direction, luckily knowing which way she was going, and then starting jogging a little. When he could properly see her and know she was within hearing range he shouted, "Where are you going?" He managed to catch up with her and said, "Look, I was joking about what I said alright? And I made a promise, so don't go walking off without me."

[Cham]

It was moments later when she heard footsteps crashing in the brush behind her. She clenched her jaw and turned to face him. "Well thats not an ok thing to say. Im NOTHING like them" She shouted, then turned, and continued walking. "And im going nowhere. With you that is. Your released from your promise, so you can stick it up your-" She stopped short and just fumed, continuing forward towards the street. Oddly enough it was away from the library, to the dingy part of town. It was safe in the daylight, but one definitly didnt want to be there at night. Even sunset was pushing it... But she just wanted to get away from the boy. Hopefully he would get scared, or annoyed and quit. Then she could make her way to the library where she would spend the night.

[Lotus]

Her reaction was shocking and Isaac could do nothing but stop in the middle of the path and stare after her. She had just yelled at him and nearly said something rude before storming off. He wanted to follow her, he didn't want to see her go so soon; and especially on such a bad note.

From where he stood he raised his voice, loud enough for her to hear and anyone in close distance. "Hey! Don't just leave me standing here!" He finally managed to sort out the shock and he walked to catch up to her from where she'd stopped in the path; apparently shocked by his outburst by the look on her face. As he came up to her properly he said, "Just don't yell at me okay? I'm not ready to go home just yet." Then it was out; was that too much to have said?

[Cham]

A look of shock and disgust came over her previously kind and caring face. "Really?" She asked, her voice choked up. Now not only was she angry, but she was hurt. And she had no one else to go to but him. So she continued yelling, a thin line of tears covered her lashes "So im just some entertainment until you go home?" She yelled "Well i REALLY dont appreciate that Thank you very much Issac, So YOU" She poked his chest "Can just leave me ALONE, and go find some stupid girl who cant see through all the crap your putting out" At this point several tears slid down her cheeks. Roughly she wiped them away, and turned, running quickly down a random ally. Not sure where exactly she was going as the liquid poured out of her eyes, blurring everything. Her bag bounced on her already raw shoulder and several scratches cracked completely through the skin and bled.

[Lotus]

The look on her face pained him and when the tears started forming he knew it was his fault. So much for his act working a treat with anyone. All he'd said was one simple line and now everything was out of line. Could he ever do anything right? Before he got the chance to explain that that wasn't what she was to him at this very moment in time, and never had been for that matter, she had run off. He didn't really process where she'd gone off to before it was too late. "Damnnit!" He growled.

He ran a hand over his face and yelled at the top of his voice. He couldn't leave it in this state. He might not been known to care too much, but he never ended anything on a bad note unless it was to do with himself only. So instead, he walked to the library, hoping she'd turn up there.

[Cham]

Gia continued to run until she was out of breath, and a considerable distance from where she began. Looking over her shoulder she saw no one she recognized, and definitely no Issac. She started walking and her breath slowed as she wiped away the tears. Now she was sweaty and grimy, pulling her hair to the side and tying it in a knot. She kept walking, but it was getting dark... She passed a bar when she felt two arms around her...

Gasping as she was pulled back into a dark ally, she tried to scream but felt something unfamiliar on her mouth, someones lips. she tried to scream, but he put his hand over her mouth. Her heart rate spiked, and he dropped her bag on the ground, his other hand running over the blood on her shoulder. He tried to speak, but was too drunk, and just mumbled. She brought her knee up sharply and he dropped immediatly.

She grabbed her bag and ran. Would she ever stop? This time she knew where she was going. She could see, although she was terrified someone else would stop her. But where was she to go? The library... She was safe enough there. If Issac bothered to check, he was probably gone. Someone who didnt care about you wouldnt wait around for an hour and a half somewhere they didnt want to be. She didnt stop running until she was a block from her destination, trying to calm her mind, but it raced on. She pushed through the door, and a briskly walked to the back, not acknowledging anyone. She went to the far end, and collapsed into a chair at a small table, her head in her hands.

[Lotus]

Isaac had made his way to the library in hopes to find Gia there. He'd even gone inside to check. She wasn't, but he wasn't that sort of person, so he hung around. He even managed to start on his homework properly whilst waiting for her.

He'd taken a table that was as close to the doors as he could get and every time they opened his head shot up to see if it was that face he'd upset so much. The face that was going to trouble him until he sorted everything out between them. There were two other girls he recognised in the library and they kept moving tables; getting closer and closer every time. Now they were sitting at his table, trying to get him to talk. They were being all touchy feely and he felt as if he was about to lose it.

It was as if someone had come to save him, because at the very minute he was about to yell at the two girls someone burst through the door. The two girls looked round and made snide comments to which Isaac said, "Don't you dare." With that they shut up and moved away swiftly. He knew it was Gia.

He packed up his stuff rapidly and flung his bag on his shoulder as he followed her down to the back of the library. He knelt down in front of her, "Gia..."

[Cham]

She looked up "Hell, no i cant do this right now" She whispered, her frazzled mind recalling the hurt she had felt, tears once again lined her eyes, but this time in more mixed emotions, not only hurt, but fright, and worry. Her stomach was twisted in knots and she started to stand, now terrified. If she couldnt stay at the Library, where was she going to go. Slinging her bag over her shoulder she winced, finally really observing her bleeding shoulder. There were scratches, and the blood had oozed through her shirt. Now she couldnt wear it. It would cause stains. She looked at Issac desperately, but threw the throught of asking for help from her mind. She really didnt need a confusing relationship thrown into the mess her life had become...

[Lotus]

He saw the state she was in, the pain in her eyes and the mess of her shoulder. He'd caused most of that and he was going to make it better. He was! He grunted, pulling on his bag properly, grabbing her bag from her shoulder and grabbing hold of her hand whilst slinging her bag onto his shoulders in one swift motion.

"Come with me Gia." He half growled. If that was the only way she'd listen then that's how it would be done. He was going home, and she was going with him.

[Cham]

She tried to pull her hand from his, but when he snapped at her, she was terrified beyond belief. She decided to follow him and see where they ended up. If the worst came to worst, she could probably take him down too... But that was risking losing her bag. If they were in a building, she was skinny. Too skinny... She could fit through a window...

As they were walking out of the building she saw two girls who at first snickered, but when they saw her holding his hand, their jaws literally dropped. And she flushed red. She was ruining his hard earned reputation. But she stepped forward so she was walking beside him and whispered "You dont need to do anything more. Youve done quite enough. I can take care of myself" but she didnt release his hand. It was warm and comfortable. And to be honest with herself, it felt safe...

[Lotus]

He didn't say anything to those two girls and waited to answer Gia until they were outside. How could he have been so stupid? Gia was nothing like any other girl. She was kind and was hurt far too easily. It wasn't the first time he'd been stupid, it was like he could never be clever at anything! Nothing went right.

As soon as they were out of the building. "I don't care what you say about looking after yourself or not needing me right now, but I'm going to help no matter what. You're shoulders a mess, I hurt your feelings by saying something stupid and when you ran off someone else hurt you. Not that I know how. So just cut it and come with me 'kay?" He knew he was being forceful, but when someone refused his help and it had been his fault, he'd do anything to right it. Even if that meant taking a girl back to his home, the night after he'd failed a test.

[Cham]

Issac was very aggressive as he spoke. And for some crazy reason that calmed her. And she told him exactly what had happened "A man... bad intentions... he was drunk... kissed me" Her eyes dialated in fear and she began trembling just from the memory "never been kissed before... tried to... to..."

She looked up at him, and forced her way into his arms, her own wrapped around his waist, her head in his chest. She felt comfortable there. Listening to his steady heartbeat slowed her own. After she chilled out, she looked up at him "Sorry" She whispered. "And Thank you. I think Im alright now..." Stepping back, she tried to take her bag "Really. Ill be fine..."

[Lotus]

He stopped suddenly in the middle of the path. He was good in weird situations, but this girl had brought around anger when something happened to her. He was furious that someone had done that to her. Plus, to make things better, if he hadn't have been a fool, she wouldn't have run off and things would be okay.

When she stepped away from him and reached for her bag he shifted it to she wouldn't get it off him. He moved forwards and wrapped his arms tightly around her again, bring her head to his chest, cradling her head. "I said I didn't have bad intentions, but I failed that promise too." He wanted to comfort her with words about what had happened to her, but he didn't know what to say. When had he ever been speechless? When? Never! She really did bring out a new side to him.

Instead he whispered in her ear, "Come with me, okay?"

[Cham]

Feeling him pull her against him was a relief. She didnt feel as awkward, or uncomfortable as when she had pulled away, and when he murmured in her ear, all other thoughts left her head. She nodded gently and whispered back softly "Alright. I believe you." Her head tucked into him, and she felt warm inside and out. And crazily, even happy. When they split she put her hands in her pocket, not knowing what to do with them. Does she hold his hand? Would that be too weird? Yeah, probably. So she just smiled, asking "Where we going?" not for the first time that day.

[Lotus]

He reached out for her arm and slowly lifted her hand out of her pocket. His hand slid down her arm and his fingers entwined with hers. It wasn't a sign of anything, just support. She needed that right now and he was going to do that right thing.

He took a big intake of air and exhaled before saying, "My house if that's okay with you. Get you cleaned up and calmed down. Sound good?" He turned to her and shifted the bags on his shoulders. How did she carry this day in day out.

He held his head high, again, and started in the direction of his 'home'.

[Cham]

She smiled as he took her hand, instantly calming her mind. It was comfortable. And she needed that. She took a step closer, and said softly "I guess, i dont have curfew or anything" she jumped slightly at her slip of the tongue. Hopefully he would put it down to loose parents. He didnt know she didnt have a home. And there was no possible way she was going to tell him. She just shut her mouth and followed.

[Lotus]

He nodded his head in answer to her question and smiled a little. When they neared his road he went completely quite and his hand wrapped that little tighter around her hand. Was he ready to face this? Not really, but now he didn't have choice. He didn't care about failing. He didn't care about all that. That's what he'd tell himself.

He reached into his back pocket for his key as they came up to his door. He instantly let go of Gia's hand and said under his breath, "I hope this will be okay for you." With that he put the key in the lock and opened the door. Let the berating begin.

[Cham]

They began walking up a drive that daunted her. Shit... What were his parents going to think? Bringing in some dirty girl. She looked down at her boots and shrugged to herself. At least she wasnt tracking in dirt. But Issac looked uncomfortable. She looked at him curiously "Oh come on. How bad could it be?" She asked before she stepped in. Taking care to wipe her feet on the mat, she stepped into a manicured house. Everything in its place, and everything was... beige... how odd...

[Lotus]

Isaac shut the door behind them and slipped off his shoes as quickly as he could. He motioned for Gia to do that same and as soon as she had done he took hold of her wrist and quickly made a dash for the stairs. He thought he'd gotten away with it, but at the top a voice from at the bottom of the stairs was summoning him.

He turned to look at Gia first and said, "My rooms the one right at the end of the hall. Wait for me in there." He smiled slightly and let go of her wrist. "Now." He whispered so she would move.

He finally looked down to the bottom of the stairs where his father was now being joined by his mother. "You're late Isaac Zachary Waterman." His middle name was used. Great! They were in an excellent mood. He would have to play this well.

[Cham]

Gia kicked off her well worn boots and followed him quickly, but he pushed her infront of him as they reached the top. She shook her head, not wanting to be alone in the house, and hoping that her presents might elivate their mood somewhat. Who wants to yell infront of company. Yet he looked slightly frightened, or Spooked. Whatever that look was. She moved out of sight, and as he turned around, she snuck back to the edge, still hidden, but well withing earshot.

Hearing his middle name she thought silently "Zachary. Ill have to remember that"
