Artemis L. Johnstone
Artemis waited patiently for the train to arrive at the rickety platform. The escorts voice chattered away at her, oblivious to the fact that she was being completely ignored by both Artemis and her mentor. She looked over at her mentor, a tall man that smelled of funny herbs. He didn't bother to introduce himself or even ask Artemis her name. She didn't bother to tell him either, not having much hope in herself at winning the Games.
They were waiting for what seemed like an eternity for the train. It didn't help that the Escort was still jabbering at her which only made the wait seem all the longer. Finally the train pulled into the platform station and the doors opened to reveal a lavish interior. 'They could feed all of District Twelve with all this stuff.' Artemis thought to herself as she got on and looked around. There was velvet and satin everywhere. Not to mention the metal. So much metal and extravagance. It almost made her sick to look at all the wasted resources, but instead she just sat down in one of the seats, sighing and rolling her eyes inwardly as the Escort sat beside her to continue talking Artemis' ear off. Before she knew it though, the train was off, speeding along the tracks to the Capitol where Artemis was sure she was to die.
