Adam was astonished when they first arrived to the Capitol. The place was huge and it didn't matter that he'd seen it so many times before on TV, the place still made him speachless. The buildings was by far the most amazing things he'd seen in his entire life. Not to mention the people. They looked crazy and usually he would just have laughed at them but they would be everything he had now. His life depended on sponsors and he knew he could get them. As they stepped off the train the capitolians went crazy, cheering and screaming and Adam couldn't help but smile and wave at them. If possible, they got even louder and getting them to like you wasn't really a problem. All Adam had to do was smile and wave, maybe even wink at a girl or two that looked to be in a pretty decent age. It was weird how he actually loved getting all this attention and if he was going to die, then this was kind of the perfect way to go. Live in some real luxury and then get sent to his death. It was sad, but better than just dying at home without of seeing all of what the Capitol had to offer. Well, atleast some of it.
Adam didn't get much time to eat or anything, he was just shoved into a room as soon as they entered the building and was told to sit down on the chair and wait for his stylist. It didn't take long before she entered and surprisingly enough, she didn't look as crazy as the people he had seen before. Yes, her hair was completely silver colored sort of, and her eyes were green with a silver eyeliner but other than that she looked really good. Adam couldn't help but smile. He reached out his hand to greet her. "I'm Adam".He was sure she already knew it but didn't really care. She shook his hand. "I know," she said with a smile."I'm Porla". She smiled once again and walked around him examinating him slowly. To anyone else it probably would have been awkward, but getting looks from people was something Adam was used to. They didn't talk that much, instead the prep team walked in and started fixing him up. They even waxed his legs and arms, something that surprised him but he knew better than to complain. They seemed to do it every single year.
He had no idea for how long they'd been in there. Porla spoke after a few hours he guessed. "Nono, leave the face, it's perfect as it is. Thank you guys", Porla said to the prep team and asked them to leave. He just looked at her with a raised eyebrow but kept his mouth shut when Porla herself started working on him. It took quite some time but then she finally asked him to put on the clothes that she had done for the Opening Ceremony. Adam still didn't know how he looked like, but what he got to wear was a suit. A black one that seemed to glow somehow, to a white shirt underneath and a black tie to it. This was probably the first time his district got to dress in something nice. Usually it was some weird stuff, but he actually liked the suit. Porla walked up to him and placed her hands on his shoulders as she turned him around. "What do you think hun? Did I do a good job or not?" she asked him teasingly and Adam couldn't do anything but stare. Yes, he knew he looked really good even before this makeover, but now it was just astounding to see how he looked. The suit seemed to glow yeah, but so did his skin aswell. His face was as close to perfection you could be and Adam couldn't be any more satisfied with the result. He smiled at her. "Didn't really think I could look any better", he told her sounding way to stuck up. He laughed at his own irony and just looked at her really gratefully. "You did great, thank you so much", Adam couldn't seem to stop smiling when realizing how this could actually get him a great amount of sponsors. It wasn't all about the looks, he knew that, but it sure as hell was a big part of it.
He hugged his stylist and then pressed his lips to hers. "Seriously, thank you", he said with a big grin on his face. She just laughed and walked with him out to the chariot where Daisa was already waiting. "Now you remember that everything that matters is how well you act up, we all want a good show and if you can pull that off, then all the sponsorships will be handed to you on a silverplate", Porla told him and gave him a big hug. He nodded at her and couldn't help but wink before getting up on the chariot next to Daisa. "How about you try to smile for now? I know you're good at putting up acts, so doing that now would be great", Adam said to his district partner and waited for their chariot to start moving. District 1 was first to go like usual. The chariot started moving and the crowd started cheering even louder. Adam looked at the big screen and it was hard not to smile too much. He really did look great. He just waved at the crowd with a smile on his face, winked to some and made sure that he was with them the whole time.
The president did his talking and when it was over he could finally breath. He and Daisa got off the chariot and walked over to their 'crew'. Hospes and Zak were there, and so were the two stylists. Porla just smiled at him with a thumbs up and he smiled satisfied. They all congratulated them for the ceremony and how well it had went. Guess it had all worked out well. He wondered how his mother was feeling right now when she saw him. Was she alone? Was someone there to comfort her? Adam shook away the thoughts of his mom. She had to have someone, her friends probably offered to be with her.. He hoped. Adam didn't get much time to think before Hospes and Zak pushed them into an elevator and pressed 8.
