After the train ride, Kylie hopped off the train and looked around. The Capitol was incredible, with vibrant, flashing lights and crazy-looking people all around her. They were all cheering. This was only the second district to arrive so they were still excited and buzzed from seeing District 1 arrive. Kylie grinned at them all. I will die and meet Georgia and Madison in the afterlife. But I'll give them a show before I depart this world. Kylie waved crazily as she was led off towards the training center, where they'd get ready. The tribute parade would be coming up and Kylie wanted to start planning her strategy straight away. The Capitol wanted a show, the President wanted a show, people back home wanted a show; so she could supply whatever shows they wanted. She would make an impression, be known as the twelve year old from District 2. There was another kid her age. From District Eleven. That was the reaping Kylie remembered most, although it was just silence as the angelic little girl made her way up to the stage. Kylie had watched hers again, seen the tears spilling over her mother's lashes, seen the tiny glimpse of wet in her eyes, and watched herself blink them rapidly away. She listened to the whistle of the wind as nobody volunteered, and it was exactly like that in District Eleven.
The tribute parade was only hours away now, and Kylie was waiting for her outfit to be ready. Her stylist arrived and brought her an outfit. "I've put together a fabulous outfit for you tonight!" the stylist squealed. "I made it in your size and I've practically finished your interview dress already! Oops, I told you it'd be a dress! I hope I haven't spoiled anything for you!" Kylie smiled. "What else would I wear? Shirt and jeans? No, I had some sense and realized I'd be wearing pretty dresses here." The stylist's face fell a little but she beamed when she saw Kylie in the outfit. Kylie looked at it in amazement. It was a colorful dress, with explosive patterns on it, and some heeled blue shoes, light blue with sparkly diamonds embroidered on the heels. Silver bracelets dangled from her wrists and diamond-studded heart-shaped earrings were studded on her ears. A starry necklace draped down her front, giving her effortless flair. Light, subtle pink lipstick was smudged across her lips, giving her a more mature look to her. And last, but not least, her hair was in a beautiful updo behind her and two strands of hair dangled at the front, giving her a great look. She just stared in amazement, her mouth hanging open. She tried to force words out, but her throat just gave a loud croak, unable to speak the words she had hovering in her mind like a cloud. "Do you like it?" Kylie nodded and the necklace made a small jingle. "I'll teach you how to walk in those heels and Heather's gonna talk through your strategy for the parade. Now, first you need to try and hold your balance. Walk really slowly at first then try and speed up. I'll catch you if you fall..."
After half an hour of high heel training, Kylie went to Heather Mansfield, one of the victors from her district. "So, you want to know what to do for the parade...just look childish, smile, wave or something. I'll give you a pretty flower or something to hold. Don't stress yourself out, the opening ceremonies aren't half as excruciatingly painful as the arena..." Heather stopped herself and Kylie left the room. Her drunk mentor wasn't helpful. Kylie would get through the pre-games period by herself, just perfectly.
Unfortunately this post is a WORK IN PROGRESS!
