David Hatter Capitolite What a marvelous week it was turning out to be, the peacekeepers had barged in on his start of the games party and ruined the fun for everyone. So what if they were taking some mind bending drugs, it was all for fun, and no one got hurt... Mostly. Today was turning out quite well as well, his latest batch of electric blue drink was turning out quite nicely, it glowed just right when the light hit it. And of course with the lights inside The Rabbit set just right it would glow even brighter. He had even made one that was safe for the little kiddies to drink too, not a single drop of alcohol in it. Taking a sip of the green version he sighed, tasted just like green apples with a little zing of alcohol to get the juices flowing. Tossing a delicate bottle to his bartender Alice, strange name for a capitolite, of course so is David but he hasn't been called that in years. "Make sure you give out samples of this tonight, I want every citizen begging for more tomorrow, ya hear." The blue haired girl smiled and nodded setting the bottle on the back counter. Hatter pressed on the wall to reveal his office, a strangely decorated place, the floor was made of grass and had wild flowers growing in the corner. Plopping into his desk chair he hit a few keys and some dance music pounded through the speakers set into the walls. Humming to himself pulled up a recap of last years games for inspiration for drinks and events for the weeks to come. Hatter heard boots crunching on his grass and without looking up said, "If you kill my flowers I will have to ban you from the club for the rest of your life.." He said as he looked up and smiled when he saw it was a female peacekeeper, "Ah, officer may I be of some assistance?"

The officers raced around headquarters, gathering weapons. MP-5's. Tear Gas. Sniper rifles. Everything. Apparently, tactical officers had been asked to join in helping out with probably the biggest drug bust of the year. She had been one of the consultants to hear every little detail. The bar they were hitting, The Rabbit Hole, was known for dipping and dealing Coke. Horrible drug choice. They also have Ecstasy sellouts and are a hotspot for Meth snorters. They Drug Squad had a real beef against the place. And Chrissie, just didn't like the idea. A bar? For a bust? Maybe there were just multiple people involved.
"Come on people! Let's move!" She quickly ushered her team into the Chevy Suburbans that awaited them. Drug Squad had initial cause. That made her team just an aid for arrests. She was willing to help. The boss had an evaluation so she was free to help out.
They quickly pulled into the back lot of the bar. Their headsets were silent except for the white noise. No one spoke. Chrissie directed her team of agents to the rear door. She directed the entry man to the door with the Battering Ram. The door had been breached. "Eeryone on the ground right now!" frightened patrons dropped liked flies, drugs left on the tables. She made her way to the owner of the bar, sitting non-chanlantly at his own bar. Once he caught sight of Chrissie he perked up. "Not if you're arrested first. Up. Now." she pulled him up and cuffed him.

She and many other officers raced around Peacekeeper headquarters. Modern DEA agents had dragged every avaible Peacekeeper into the station at 3 in the God-awful morning. Many Capitolites had been said to OD on a hit of something at this new local bar. The Rabbit Hole. Owned and operated by David Hatter. Cocaine. Meth. Ecstasy. Many other drugs had been discovered by undercover agents. "Everyone ready?" She watched as they rushed even faster to grab their weapons. Tear gas. MP-5's. Sniper rifles. 9mm's. everything had to be used in this raid. "Let's move. 20 minutes to break and enter! Let's move!" She ushered her team into the black Chevy Suburbans waiting to take them to their destination.
Everyone pulled intotheir position. Chrissie's team made their way to the rear with shields and the battering ram. No noise echoed over the headsets, except white noise. She moved out of the way of the entry man. The ram hit the door and breached. Chrissie's was the first voice anyone heard. "Go go go! Everyone! On the ground now! immediately, bodies hit the ground. They left behind any drug they were snorting or shooting. One man was still sitting, almost non-chanlantly.
"Not if I arrest you first. Let's go." she pulled him up and quickly cuffed him, leading him out of his bar.

David Hatter Capitolite "Oh, Sweetheart if you wanted a drink all you had to do was ask." He said air kissing her cheek. "Don't worry folks, I'll have this all sorted out in time for the opening ceremonies." Hatter said to the crowd cowering on the floor. As he was ushered out of the back door he pouted at the gathered peacekeepers, "All this fuss for little old me, I am touched." He said, "Now do try not to harass them into not coming back, repeat customers is how I make my money." Hatter intoned playfully to the young woman dragging him along. As he was about to be shoved into one of their trucks he stopped them, "Wait, careful of the hat, I will have your job if you crush it." he said as he gingerly ducked into the back of the car.

"In your dreams." When he commented about all the attention on him, she threw him into a wall. "You want to know what you're going away for? Drug charges. And a hell of a lot of them. It's to your best interest to cooperate." She scoffed when he mentioned having her job. Through every possible circumstance, she had managed to keep her job. People from higher up than this moron had threatened her job. But then again, the only female Tac officer? Yes please. "I'll be sure not to." she grabbed his hat before he ducked into the SUV. She ran around front and hoped into the passenger seat. "Good work today team. De-brief on your own time. Nice work."
She ran her fingers around the rim of the hat. Teasing him that he didn't have it. "How long have you owned the place? Your bar, I mean."

David Hatter Capitolite Hatter smiled at her as he watched her play with his hat, "Unfounded drug charges I don't deal sweet cheeks. But if they bring it with them who am I to stop them from using?" "The Rabbit has been mine since it opened, three years ago, wanna write that down too." Hatter wasn't worried, not one bit. He had enough money to pay off the president himself, not to mention many higher ups rather enjoyed his delirious concotions and The Rabbit Hole and its owner being out of business wouldn't sit too well with them. It wasn't the first time he had cooked his heels in jail, and it wouldn't be the last. He played in teh fine and sometimes illegal art of pleasing the masses, it wasn't his fault that certain upholders of the law didn't agree with their brand of fun.

"Why do you let it to on then? People have fallen dead on that bar of yours. And three years. The fact that you haven't drunken yourself to death amazes me." She laughed breifly. She passed the hat back to him as they arrived at the station. Drug agents still flooded the halls of their once quiet HQ. the bumble of noise filled her head like bees. It annoyed every little fiber of her being.
To her luck, most of the men were in a room de-briefing. The agents applauded their team as they brought everyone in. She pulled her headset out of her war and pulled David into an interrogation room. "So. People die in your bar. No murder. Drug OD. Most of them underage users. Tell me how this wouldn't make you lose business."

David Hatter Capitolite "See thats where you are mistaken, kids don't come to my club, their mommies and daddies won't let them, and quite frankly I don't care to deal with them." He said as he straightened his hat just right. It had to be one of his employees, probably the same bartender he had spoken to earlier, Alice. She knew his policy, only his drinks and some interestingly colored pastries, drugs were strictly off limits for this exact reason. He would have to have a talk with her when he was through. He didn't like to fire employees but this was not the first time he heard of drug use within The Rabbit. "You must be misinformed, like I said, I don't deal drugs, I make alcoholic beverages the excite the body and transport the mind to another place. THAT is what I am good at, I know how to escape reality if only for a little while. I haven't drunken myself to death because drinking your own product is bad business and darling I am anything if not a business man. Also dealing drugs that make my customers overdose is also not my style like I said, I am a business man, and again killing my patrons makes me lose rather than gain money." Hatter stood up straight and smiled at the drug officials that passed by as they sneered at him, "So are we going to an interrogation room or are we just going to stand here like the good little children we are?"

Christina Adelie --- Captiol PeacekeeperShe pushed him into a room and slammed the door behind her. "Well, frankly, I don't seem to care. Sure. It isn't your fault. I get that. But people talk. People will find out that druggies are hanging out in your business. The dealers will come and find you for stealing their thunder." She pulled herself to sit on the table. "I've known that from way too close up." She looked behind the glass, seeming to get lost in her own thoughts. "The least you could do is make a statement. Tell everyone that your bar isn't a drug house. People at least deserve that." She pulled herself from the table and sat herself in the chair opposite him.

David Hatter Capitolite Hatter took a seat across from the peacekeeper studying her as she spoke. He had his cuffed hands folded neatly in his lap. "Yes, because good out standing criminals listen to the news." Hatter dug in his vest pocket and produced a purple colored cigarette, lighting it with a match and taking a deep drag he considered something for a moment. "So if I make a public state and make nice with the authorities will I get off with a slap on the wrist or do you really have to arrest some body?" Hatter asked inquisitively offering a smoke to the lady.

Christina Adelie --- Captiol PeacekeeperShe laughed at his remark. "They don't need to. Street talk is louder than you think." She laughed as he light out a smoke. She took it from in between from his lips and burned it out in the steel table. "Didn't you read the sign? No smoking sweetheart." She smiled at him. "And maybe." She leaned back in her chair. "That isn't up to me. If it were, regardless of what you did or didn't do, I would stick a charge with whatever I could or couldn't get you on." She stood up and paced around the room for while.

David Hatter Capitolite Hatter watched in amusement as the peacekeeper snuffed out his cigarette, not like he didn't have more in his pocket so he just sat there contemplating her as she paced. "So... Are we waiting for the sheer boredom to crack me or are you or a superior going to interogate me." Hatter asked air quoting when he said interogate. "I do have a business to run." He said leaning back.

Christina Adelie --- Captiol PeacekeeperShe realized her mistake. As if with this man had only one cigarette. He probably had two or three packs on him. She walked around him, her boots pounding against the ground. She pulled him up and pat-searched him and found two packs on him. He pushed him back down in the chair. "Quite frankly, I don't want to interrogate you. My superior wouldn't see you as worth his time. So, I think I might just leave you here for a few hours." She sat in front of him on the table. "Your little 'business' won't be a problem if it's closed."

David Hatter Capitolite Hatter smiled when she pushed him back into his chair. Very non chalantly he removed his hat and extracted a cigarette from the lining, an emergency one, nestled next to it was a match which he struck and lit his cigarette with. Taking a deep drag before she could take it away again he regarded her solemnly. "Oh but sweetie it is my business that line the pockets of your superior. And if I am going to be kept here for a few hours I want my phone call, and a lawyer." He said taking another drag. The door to the interrogation room opened and a sharply dressed man entered and Hatter smiled brightly between the two. "Am I interrupting cause I could leave, get some coffee, have a cig, possibly come back tomorrow?" Hatter said playfully taking another drag.

Christina Adelie --- Captiol Peacekeeper She was ready to snap. Usually, if even the slightest person pissed her off, she was fine. She wasn't phased at all. It was the bout of arrogance raking off of Hatter that set her off. He thought everything revolved around him. He thought her boss was a drunk? Her patience was really wearing short. Any other time, she probably wouldn't have cared. But personal matters have now gotten in the way. She was working on an even tighter schedule now. " How about no call and no lawyer. You seem to be able to defend yourself. And unless we charge you, and we will, you aren't exactly allowed one. So sorry to disappoint." She grabbed the hat off of his head and paced around the room, twirling it between her fingers before setting it down across the room. Lucky her, he was hand-cuffed to the table. He wouldn't be able to reach it. A sight to see if he tries, she thought with a smirk.
She moved to stand between the two men. She threw the guy at the door a look of disgust and his cue to leave, which he took. She looked back at Hatter. "No. You aren't exactly leaving. We can hold you here regardless of evidence. 72 hours. You haven't even been ere one. So you'll be here a while. And can I get you anything? Aside from this." She took the cigarette out of his hand. She had a feeling that was the last one. Withdrawals would start to set in for him. He would become irritable and demand to see anyone but her. Ah, the joy of finally getting away from the smell of smoke. It brought back some memories.

David Hatter Capitolite Hatter sat back in his chair and crossed his arms non chalantly, well as non chalantly as he could being handcuffed but he pulled it off rather nicely, and non awkwardly if he did say so. "Oh really, I have a feeling I won't be here for too much longer." At the questioning look Hatter smiled broadly, "You see me as evil, which I understand I operate outside of what is generally considered to be 'good' and 'moral'. I am a necessary evil. The higher ups in the government benefit from my business because I keep the masses... Pliable, easy to control. See it is easy to control a group of people when they are less than sober. Places like mine are needed. For the opening ceremonies parties and many a mentor has met with possible sponsors in my establishment. I understand where you are coming from, I really do. But I won't be here long, and I have a feeling you and your captain will be instructed to turn a blind eye, yes I will buckle down and make sure I have no under age patrons, and lie low for a few weeks. But I won't go away. And neither will others like me. Because right now, they need the citizens not questioning their motives, atleast here. But don't fret my dear peace keeper one day down the line I'm sure you will find me in this very room once again. And that time, I won't get away with anything." Hatter said as the man that had been rudely ushered out returned with Christines rather angry looking captain. "I told you sweet heart." He said matter of factly.

Christina Adelie --- Captiol Peacekeeper Christina sat on the table facing the man. "You're trying really hard to piss me off aren't you??" she walked around a bit. [bAnd while my drinkun superiors may turn a blind eye, I won't. You've already pissed me off enough. So if I beat you, right here and right now, just a fair warning that you had it coming." [/b] She glanced towards the hard-looking superiors. Why can't they just do this? Why else are they here, she thought. She turned her head back to him. "Even if it's because you have a joint in your pocket, and I honestly won't be surprised if you do, then I'll find a way to get you on that."She saw her boss pause outside the widow, just checking to make sure everything was going fine. She poked her head out, asked her her her not everything was really fine. She replied with a nod before pulling back in. She pulled back inside and sat down across from him. "And that's all I ask. Check ages and all that stuff. That's what everyone else does. And how often do you see us bringing them in on suspicion of drug charges. And I know you don't want to shut down, but our protocol overrules what you want. So currently, your business is shut down for inspection reasons. Sorry to say, but the truth." She stood back up, sticking a hand in her pocket to slightly fiddle with her tactical knife. "I have a feeling you won't go away. You'll probably stay nearby just to keep an eye on me, won't you? And you know, I don't believe I got your name." She walked to the door and leaned against it. She looked to the superiors and asked if she could have a moment to herself before stepping out after him. She stepped into the room right next to the interrogation room with a one way mirror. She could see him, but he couldn't see her. "Why did I have to take this one? He's getting on my nerves quicker than probably any other human being," she whispered. For a couple minutes, she just stood there watching him. She noticed that her tactic had faltered. She wanted to break him, make him think that she could get him with something no matter what it was. And now, she seemed entirely ready to hold the door open for him when he left. She couldn't being herself to fight anymore. It was useless to her now. Coming to an agreement had been all too simple. Then it hit her. She walked back in, slamming the door behind her. She brought out the knife, unfolded of course, and laid it against his throat. "I want you to explain something to me. Who's behind this?" The other two men in the room began to move towards her before she have them a hard look. I got this. I think.[/b]

David Hatter Capitolite Hatter smirked at the officer ignoring the cold steel to his throat. "Whatever do you mean sweetheart?" He asked bating his eyelashes innocently. "I am just a lowly bar owner, there is no way I would be paid off for anything. How could someone like me ever hold any leeway in matters of politics." He said as her superiors moved fast to get the knife out of her hand. "Oh and by the way, you just gave me my free ride out of here. Tsk tsk tsk, threatening a suspect like that I would have thought someone as smart as you would have known better that to do something like that." He said his grin spreading wider across his face. "I would like my hat back, for starters, and my cigarettes, they are not in fact 'joints' I just have a distributor that makes them specially for me to have purple smoke, though," he lean in conspiratorially "If you really want some I know a guy who could hook you up. Friends with Alice my barmaid." "Secondly, I would like you and your station, to buy all my patrons you harassed tonights drinks at my start of games bash next week, you are invited of course, but leave the uniform and guns at home, we likek to play nice at my club. And to be extra good I will personally double check every persons ID before they are given any kind of drink, even if they look old enough to have been born before the dark days." Hatter said resting his elbow on the metal table.
((I had a sudden burst of inspiration with the knife threat))
