New Beginnings (Mai and Cam)

Gia had just gotten out of probably the single most difficult test of her life. Her head pounded, and she was exhausted. She still had to find a place to sleep that night... It had been nearly a month since her parents kicked how out, but this time it seemed like they were serious. She she had been staying at a few friends houses, but she was running out of people that would help her. Last night she had spent it at the library like so many others, studying, then when they closed down, she stowed away in the supply closet, and snuck back out once everyone was gone.

Although she had been out of the streets for a while, she still looked fairly well groomed. A little rough around the edges, a little bruised. But she maintained her hair and clothes. She washed them when she could, but she had plenty to last her until her friends took her under their wing again...

She walked outside and around the corner of the school building, sliding to the ground. What was she going to do long term? She had to figure something out soon...

He sauntered out of the test with his head held high. Yeah it had gone terribly, but no way in hell was he letting anyone know that! He would act proud and confident, until he got home and could scream so loud his voice starts to die. It had been a tough test and it would be easy to say to himself not to worry about it, but it was important. He had to show his parents and his sister that he could meet her standards and if not, better them.

His friends were getting on his nerves; all this banter about how bad their results would be. He wasn't in the mood so he simply walked off. Just took a step sideways and ignored the calls beckoning him back. He didn't have in mind anywhere to really go, but just going off on a long, long walk sounded like a good idea. Maybe it would help him tell himself he wasn't going to do that badly. He couldn't have done, surely?

{OOC - I hope that's okay! Not really ever written anything for this district before so still a bit unsure, I'll get used to him soon enough...hopefully}

[Cham]

Gia looked up when she heard footsteps coming towards her. She gritted her teeth, and curled up into as small of a ball as she could. Surely it was a teacher, or a bully. On the plus side it could be a friend, offering her to spend the night.

Her muscles knotted tightly, hoping to go unseen. She didnt really want to be mooching off of people the way she was forced to... But she had no real skills that any other person would have. She couldnt get a job until she turned 18, and without any income now, there was a small chance she would even make it to 18. She went pale thinking that she could die in a back ally... It was a miracle she hadnt been picked up, or raped as it was, but it was probably only a matter of time...

Isaac walked around the back of the school building, taking any route that would take him out of his distances to go home. His parents would ask questions, his sister would come home to ask questions and he would surely lose the plot in front of all of them. Now that, he could not afford to do.

He carried on walking until he stopped dead in his tracks tracing back in his mind what he'd just seen. There was something that had caught his attention further back, right up against the wall so he traced his steps back. To his amazement there was a person curled up against the wall; apparently hiding and not doing a very good job of it. He cleared his throat in hopes of getting the persons attention, but when they didn't respond he bent down closer and said, "That looks pretty uncomfortable."

[Cham]

Gia ignored the persons first attempt at getting her attention. The footsteps had faded past her, then stopped altogether. her heart pounded, and her mind raced. Her pulse was audible in her ears, and she didnt hear the steps coming towards her again. But she DEFINITELY heard the voice. She spasmed and hit against the wall, slightly dazed as she looked almost eye level at a dead gorgeous guy. Her tongue didnt seem to want to articulate for a moment "I... uh... hmm... er... Uhhh... It- Its not..." Then she realized exactly what she had said, and flushed bright red "Sorry" She whispered, standing, grabbing her backpack and duffle and moving past him... in the direction he was going before.

Isaac was a little shocked at her reaction if he was truly honest, but he was kind of used to it. Some people just couldn't find words when they were around him. Strange really when he was only a kid, just like them. He shrugged it off and couldn't help smiling at the girl. He recognised her, he really did. Obviously they went to the same school, he wasn't stupid, but the same class. He couldn't put his finger on it.

When she got up and walked past him he couldn't help but smile more when she walked in his direction. Surely, if she wanted to get away, she'd have gone another way. So, he stood back up and followed, calling out, "I only commented on where you'd sat, I didn't declare any embarrassing secret or whatever."

[Cham]

Gia stopped, turning to look at him, face blushing furiously. "I-uh... I never said you did..." She Adjusted her duffle strap on her shoulder, it was cutting in to the skin, pulling down the sleeve slightly. She pulled her long brown hair over her opposite shoulder to avoid it getting caught. She had snapped all of her hairbands, and had stuck to just brushing it out, and pulling it over her shoulder as she had just done.

(Sorry! I started taking a Biology Test and got really into it...)

Isaac watched this girl with a great amount of attention, although he wasn't entirely sure why. She just fascinated him. He also couldn't help but smile at how she was at a loss for words around him. Other girls used to find something to say, she seemed to have nothing at all and not even care in the slightest. That intrigued him even more.

"Then why'd you walk off like that?" He took a step closer, trying to get her nerves to calm down. But then again, if she just walked off, following her would mean he wouldn't have to go home any time soon.

[Cham]

Gia trembled lightly as he took a step forward. She felt wild, and like he was trying to calm her. The odd thing was that it was working... She swallowed and took a shallow breath "I-I just... I guess i was scared... I didnt know what your intentions were" She said softly. Putting her hands lightly in her pockets.

Shrugging she watched him take another step towards her. She relaxed her tensed shoulders, and chanced a small smile. The adrenaline that had been punping was draining out of her, and she felt kindof tired now... Moreso even depressed at the reminder that she had probably just failed a majour test...

[Lotus]

Isaac was actually shocked at her response. 'Intentions'? What did she think he was?! It took him a while to sort his head out around her strange remark. Never had he been accused of something like that before; whatever that was.

After hearing that her stammering was slowly starting to disappear he felt a little better. "I don't know what you're meaning by intentions, but seriously, I don't exactly know you so I don't have a grudge so my intentions wouldn't have been bad. In fact they still aren't bad. I just wondered what the hell was that weird shape up against the wall..." He let out a little cheeky grin, hoping to make her smile; a little.

[Cham]

He suceeded, she gave a small chuckle, her still white teeth shone from her previously tight, straight mouth. Her cheekbones coloured again, and she relaxed almost completely. She thought she knew this guy... He looked familiar. Well, there was only one way to find out...

"Well... forget the intentions, its clear i was wrong... I-erm- Im Gia... Giavanna Longoria" She said her last name quietly. She wasnt sure if it was out that her parents had kicked her out or not... She had purposely been avoiding her younger brother for his safety, so she couldnt ask him if they were proud for ridding their house of the failure that previously lived there...

[Lotus]

Isaac now grinned at her as he saw her relax, and as she told him her name. It was all looking very good from now on. Well, he wouldn't say too much in case of jinxing it. That would be bad.

He clicked his fingers and held out his hand, "That's where I recognise you from! Gia! I'm Isaac, Isaac Waterman. Maybe you've heard the name." He winked at her to let her know he was messing around. "You sit at the front in class right?"

[Cham]

Gia smiled "Waterman. Yeah, your sister..." She said softly "Not to be rude or anything but some of her achievments sound a bit far fetched. No one can really be that perfect can they?" She asked gently Silently she cursed herself out, what couldve been a friend she had now just insulted his family... Stupid Stupid Stupid...

"But... erm... Yeah i sit in the front..." She added lamely, scratching lightly, and awkwardly at the back of her head.

[Lotus]

Isaac simply laughed. How many times had he heard that statement before? Probably a million, but it was okay for them to ask now. He knew how to reply with ease. "You'd think so wouldn't you. But trust me, she did all that and I'm meant to do the same. I mean, screw that!" He gave her a smile when really he wanted to scream. He hated the question and he hated her for putting all this pressure on him. Making him well known because he was the non-superior sibling.

"Knew I recognised you somewhere. I sit right at the back, so you probably wouldn't have noticed me." She was nice, he thought, and he wondered why he'd never really heard of her before. Or, even tried to talk to her.

[Cham]

"I have no doubt youll do better than her" She blurted out. Well shoot. What was with her today? Bring so outspoken. But he kept speaking. Silently she thought "Ohhhhh i noticed..." But vocally she said "Well you always seem to have the right answers, and clearly are one of the best in our level..."

Cautiously she took a step towards him. They were now a normal distance, like two friends... or aquantences...

[Lotus]

Isaac mentally took note of what she said. She was the first person to truly say that without the need for pressurising him into believing it. It actually sounded true from what she said. But the things his sister had achieved, to him, that just wasn't possible.

He smiled when she took a step closer and nodded in appreciation for some reason or another. "Thanks for that. Means a lot...I guess. I mean after all, there has to be someone at the top right?" He scratched the back of his head, hoping his obnoxious attitude hadn't offended her.

[Cham]

Sne smiled. She really was starting to like him. He wasnt cocky. He just wanted to do his best, try and achieve what his family told him he never could. "Of course there does, and i wouldnt be surprised if in the not to far future it was you" She clasped her hands behind her back, tilting her head down. Her bangs fell into her face, they were too long, her hair in general was too long. And getting slightly grimy. She needed to wash it soon, usually she could go a few days at best, but it had been a week. She could rince down, but not thoroughly wash... Oh God. She hoped she didnt smell...

[Lotus]

Isaac simply laughed. That was all there was too it. In his mind he was very much doubting it; especially based on that gruelling exam. But he didn't want to talk or think about that test so he didn't bring it up, either by asking her or stating how badly he had failed it.

He watched her intently as she dropped her head down. He smiled; if somewhat affectionately. Not that he could see it. "Did you want to go somewhere for a few hours?" he blurted out. It was out and that was it, so he just grinned at her instead.

[Cham]

Gia brought her head up to look at him. "W-With me?" She asked softly, then smiled "Yeah... Id like that. Id really like that" She grinned "Where to exactly?" She suddenly felt nervous. Hopefully it wasnt somewhere nice. He clearly came from an upstanding family, they were wealthier than most... She didnt want to embarrass him, or be recognized.

[Lotus]

"I could just take this tree out of the ground and take it somewhere, but I think a person would be better company. Don't you?" He smirked towards her and took a step in the direction he had originally been walking.

"I don't really have anywhere in mind. Maybe just go for a walk and see where we end up. To me that sounds like a good plan." He turned back round to face her, but she hadn't moved. "And I still don't have bad intentions if that's what you're thinking."

[Cham]

Gia chuckled along with him. "Depends on the person." But when he took a step, she did too, smiling at him. Her hands were beside her body, the one farthest from him in her pocket. "I... am going to trust your intentions. Good or Bad." She bit her lower lip. "Ill follow wherever we end up, sounds good to me"

[Lotus]

Instead of walking, Isaac just stared at her. She really was intriguing and that last statement especially so. She really was a lovely girl, but maybe she was trusting him far too much.

To try and make his staring a little less freaky he chuckled and said, "Well let's go then and hope my intentions stay on the good side. Bad me could get ugly." He winked at her again and properly started walking.

[Cham]

She blushed and looked at him "What?" She asked chuckling at his stare. "I hope im a good judge of character. So far you seem like an exellent guy... I guess we will see if im right" She shrugged, and took a step forward "Coming?" She asked

[Lotus]

"Nothing, just nothing." He replied, hoping to just leave his weird staring moment behind. He started walking alongside her and said, "I guess we will... And in a way, I hope you're judgement is correct. I don't want to tarnish my reputation." He smiled cheekily again, but was then really at a loss for words. I mean him, at a loss for words, that was unheard of.

[Cham]

She bumped her arm to his gently, giggling "Oh yes, you and your perfect reputation... Dont want to tarnish that precious item" She stepped forward with him, looking around to see where their destination would eventually be. She moved the duffle on her shoulder, a red mark appearing, cutting into the skin. She put her hand under it so it stopped rubbing exactly there, giving the skin a moment to stop burning
